Praise Themes is currently the only network of it's kind that I have come across. The blogs are themes, and everyone seems hard at work creating wonderful themes that stretch the imagination and possibilities of what is possible with Ning's appearance (even for an artist me).
Built on nothing but vanilla Ning (for an explation of vanilla ning, read here), praise themes has gone quickly from a small network of enthusiasts to a giant framework of all kinds of people, who just enjoy creating or using CSS! Yet that's not all there is to offer here. Every coffee house has to sell something else, right?
Well, Susan hasn't left anything out. Though there are no blogs (blogs are used for posting themes), users can still seek spiritual help in the forums, and there is no shortage of help there. Futhermore, you won't be there for long before a squad of friendly members comes knocking, like a welcoming party. They will ensure you know the ropes, for new users, and keep you smiling.
Also, users can use groups, events, graphics (photos) to express yourself and network with others. Along with those, the last tab contains videos uploaded by the members. Here you can find a wide range of videos, mostly uplifting or informative videos. One are which could be better here is that experienced users could show others how to use the themes with video.
One more interesting note. On the main page, which is too interesting to cover in depth in the scope of this review, there is a list of the popular themers. Nice idea by Susan. There is also a section for just badges! That's a good way to help spread the word of other networks, like this one, and Christian Women Connected.
In conclusion, Praise Themes is a generally well done and professional network, with a clean and exciting atmosphere, with a high "feel good factor".
